Parliament Square, Peebles
A nearby plaque explains the name:
'When David II was taken by the English in 1346, the Scottish Parliament met in Peebles, perhaps in this old courtyard.'

The steps leading down through the archway on the left were known as the 'Stinking Stair' in the days when there was a tannery nearby.
