The track to Muswell Manor
The track to Muswell Manor
This path comes up from Elliotts Farm near Harty, across Harty Marshes and over Capel Fleet to reach Muswell Manor ahead, now a holiday park. There are notices at Muswell Manor and nearby at Leysdown Country and Coastal Park reminding people that this was the cradle of British aviation.

On 1st November 1909, J.T.C. Moore-Brabazon piloting a British designed, built and designed aeroplane accomplished a flight of two miles near here. On 4th November he took a pig for a flight as an answer to the saying “if pigs could fly”. See LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link
