Poppies cross the bridge in front of Byward Tower
There are already many photos on Geograph of the poppies gradually filling the moat of the Tower of London, but I liked this view of them sweeping over the bridge to Byward Tower.
Eventually there will be 888,246 ceramic poppies installed here - one for each of the British and Commonwealth* servicemen who died in the First World War.

* Although now referred to as "Commonwealth" soldiers, at the time of WWI there was no such thing as the Commonwealth, the soldiers being from countries of the British Empire.
Tower Poppies
"Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red" was an installation by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper. It was officially unveiled on 5 August 2014, one hundred years since the first full day of Britainís involvement in the First World War, and by 11 November would have 888,246 ceramic poppies in the moat around the Tower of London, each poppy representing a British or Colonial military fatality during the war.
