Regent's Park, Westminster
A view of The Marylebone Green Children's Playground in the south-east corner of Regent's Park. It reopened in July 2013 after it had been redesigned and refurbished at a cost of £350,000. Some of its structures have a feel of 'Brutalist' architecture to them. (This term derives from the term béton brut or "raw concrete" to describe Le Corbusier's choice of this material. Later the British architecture critic Reyner Banham altered the term to "brutalism" (originally "New Brutalism") to describe this emerging style). The 191 metre high (627 ft) glass-clad concrete BT Tower in Fitzrovia is visible in the distance. It was declared open in 1965.
