Flatford Mill was built in 1733 and is Grade I listed. Attached to the mill is a 17th-century miller's cottage which is also Grade I listed.

John Constable's father owned the mill. Constable made the mill and its immediate surroundings the subject of many of his most famous paintings. It is the title of 'Flatford Mill (Scene on a Navigable River)' - see LinkExternal link

It is now owned by the National Trust and leased to the Field Studies Council - see LinkExternal link
