NR3255 : Moorland north-east of Duich, Islay

taken 3 years ago, 4 km from Glenegedale, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

Moorland north-east of Duich, Islay
Moorland north-east of Duich, Islay
Much of this moorland is owned by Scottish Natural Heritage as it is an important breeding site for ground nesting birds such as Short-eared Owl and Hen Harrier. It is also very difficult terrain to cross as it is tussocky and boggy. I did not want to venture further towards the lochan which is the main feature of this square.
