Bells Burn above Anthon's Linn
Bells Burn above Anthon's Linn
I was trying to follow the Border line along Bells Burn but as that became impassable I headed for a forest road higher up on the English side. Anthon's Linn is a named waterfall on the burn but it seems most unlikely than anyone has ever been there since Anthon.

Eric Robson in The Border Line (2006) suggests the waterfall is named for Anton Armstrong, an English Border Reiver who settled with the Liddesdale Armstrongs and raided Bewcastle in 1541.
