Stranger On The Shore
Stranger On The Shore
I like to think that Acker Bilk might well have had this sort of scene in mind when he wrote the tune. Except that he hadn't as he originally wrote it in 1961 for, and named it after, his daughter Jenny. It only became the famous one when it was used as the theme to a BBC serial "Stranger On The Shore". To date it has sold nearly 2 million copies. Bet he didn't see that coming in 1961!
