Old lane to the ferry
Old lane to the ferry
This shady unsurfaced lane runs towards the old ferry point across the Taf to Laugharne. In medieval times this was a major route linking the castles of Kidwelly, Llansteffan, Laugharne and points west to Pembroke. Crossing the Tywi and the Taf by ferry would have been easier than making long detours around the head of the estuaries. Pilgrims heading for St Davids may also have used this route.
