NR3053 : Way down on to the Big Strand

taken 3 years ago, 3 km from Laggan, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

Way down on to the Big Strand
Way down on to the Big Strand
Towards the northern end of the 8 kilometre long Big Strand on Islay, access to the beach is very difficult because of high sand cliffs. From the end of the rough road on the Laggan estate, a track over the sand dunes runs south to this point where the cliffs end. This is the northernmost point where any sort of vehicle can access the beach.
