SN3906 : Kidwelly Quay

taken 3 years ago, near to Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin, Great Britain

Kidwelly Quay
Kidwelly Quay
The quay was built for Thomas Kymer 1766-8 as part of a scheme to improve the port of Kidwelly and to make the export of coal from Kymer's mines easier. The project was relatively short lived due to problems with shifting sands and the silting up of channels to the sea.
