Viewpoint and Royal Border Bridge, Berwick-upon-Tweed
The bridge carries the East Coast Main Line across the Tweed, and consists of 28 arches 38m above the river. It was built in 1847-50 by Robert Stephenson, along with 2738 workmen, 180 horses and two Nasmyth steam hammers for driving in elm piles.
