What unspoilt really looks like
Stedham in West Sussex is a village even Miss Marple would still find recognisable. It is only reached by single-track winding lanes. The nearest it has ever come to industrialisation was a former cottage industry manufacturing blotting paper. St Jamesí Church is mentioned in that early 'Ode to Taxation' The Domesday Book and has a 2,500 year old yew tree in the churchyard. It has a garden centre, primary school, social club and a pub, The Hamilton Arms. What that dear old lady would have thought about their Thai food menu I leave to your imagination...
