SH2082 : Inside the South Stack lighthouse

taken 3 years ago, 4 km from Holyhead/Caergybi, Isle of Anglesey/Sir Ynys Mon, Great Britain

Inside the South Stack lighthouse
Inside the South Stack lighthouse
Looking up the lighthouse tower from 'ground level'. The spiral staircase is well seen. Although I can't be sure, I think the central pillar carries the main weight of the light itself, and thus helps to protect it from the buffeting that the tower will receive during storms.

For fairly obvious reasons I cannot give a view direction!
