Twyford Waterworks - lime kilns
Twyford Waterworks - lime kilns
These are the flare kilns that were used to burn lime to produce quick lime for the site's water softening process. These have long been disused but are conserved and part of the Scheduled Ancient Monument. In the foreground is the site's narrow gauge industrial railway with a Lister locomotive from the Waterworks Museum, Hereford.
