NM6702 : South-west corner of the Isle of Scarba

taken 3 years ago, near to Eilean M?r [other Features], Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

South-west corner of the Isle of Scarba
South-west corner of the Isle of Scarba
In the foreground, part of the famous Corryvreckan whirlpool. The whirlpool which forms due to the strong tides and undersea topography in the strait between Scarba and Jura, is not in fact a single phenomenon. Rather it consists of a series of clockwise-circulating bodies of water moving in from the east.
