Although this recently constructed biogas plant is already operational, parts of it it are still under construction. It is owned by Egmere Energy.

Anaerobic digestion is described as being a process utilising harmless natural bacteria to digest biomass (food waste, crops or slurry). In the absence of oxygen, soluble organic compounds present in the biomass are converted to biogas. This process is performed in sealed tanks. See also > LinkExternal link.
