Battle of Kilsyth memorial cairn
The site of this battle which took place on 15th August 1645 during the Civil War between the Royalists and the Covenanters is now largely drowned by Banton Loch. The memorial cairn which sits at the side of the loch was erected by the 1st Marquis of Montrose Society on 16th August 2003.
