SU1430 : The old Fire Station

taken 10 years ago, near to Salisbury, Wiltshire, England

The old Fire Station
The old Fire Station
Salisbury had a volunteer fire service of sorts in Salt Lane during the late nineteenth century but it wasn't until 1907 that a formal service was given a proper station. It served until 1964 when the brigade moved into better premises. After that time, the name was blanked off with a blank sheet of boarding, but has recently been revealed again. The station was empty for some time but is now a small business enterprise hub.
