SH7075 : Paired inclines

taken 3 years ago, near to Penmaenmawr, Conwy, Great Britain

Paired inclines
Paired inclines
A pair of self-acting inclines descend from the East Quarry towards the Penmaen Mill and Bonc Jolly, via an intermediate stage with a weighbridge (SH7075 : Inclines intersection 1). This view is taken from the crest of the northern incline, which is significantly more overgrown than the southern, which runs on a neat embankment for much of its length and is steeper overall. The vertical descent of this stretch is around 80 metres. The growth and flowering of the heather is wonderful.
