Red Squirrel at Forest How
Red Squirrel at Forest How
Nice to be able to finally introduce a healthy squirrel, photographed in 'Nature Wood', just north of Forest How.

It took me two mornings to obtain one good photograph, and establish that this young squirrel (born in 2014) is female. It would appear that she has been living in the far east of Foresthow Wood, popping into 'Nature Wood' for nuts, thereby avoiding contact with the squirrelpox virus which was active from late May until the end of July. In view of this, we have decided to call her 'Lucky'.
