St Mary the Virgin Church, Wickham Street
St Mary the Virgin was built between 1954 and 1955 by Thomas F. Ford. Pevsner describes it as "..a sort of Georgian-Early Christian style, with a thin Lombard south tower. Inside it is pure Soane revival, and not bad in its way. A building like this epitomises all the mid 20th century architecture ought not to be, yet one at least feels that Mr Ford got a kick out of designing it."

Here it is viewed from Shoulder of Mutton Green.
