A Watson Fothergill lace warehouse
A Watson Fothergill lace warehouse
This warehouse on the corner of Stoney Street and Barker Gate, built for Cuckson, Hazeldine and Manderfield in 1897, has many characteristic Fothergill features. Strong September-morning sunlight emphasises the bright colour of the fine brickwork (which was smoke-blackened in the years before the Clean Air Act).
