Heritage Open Day at Melbury House (5) - Chapel of St Mary, tomb of Sir Giles Strangeways
The memorial in the Chapel of St Mary to Sir Giles Strangeways (1547) with its canopy of Purbeck marble and effigy of alabaster. This maybe was originally to a member of the Brouning family that was later appropriated by the Strangeways.
