Church of St Peter, Hever
St Peterís Church dates back to the 14th century and is located in the centre of Hever next to Hever Castle. Built on the site of an earlier Norman Church, it has been a place of worship for the last 875 years.
Remnants of this Norman place of worship can be found on the outside walls where Norman stones were used in the building of the present church. Also, youíll find a list of past Rectors of the Church hanging on the West wall dating back to 1200.
The Church is well known for being the final resting place of Sir Thomas Boleyn, Anne Boleynís father and Elizabeth Iís grandfather.

Hever
Hever is a village in the Sevenoaks District of Kent. The parish is located on the River Eden, a tributary of the River Medway, east of Edenbridge.
The place-name 'Hever' is first attested in a Saxon charter of 814, where it appears as 'Heanyfre'; the name means 'high edge'.
Hever contains Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of King Henry VIII.
In the parish church of St Peter is the tomb of Thomas Boleyn, the father of Anne Boleyn and grandfather of Queen Elizabeth I.
