Engraved stone in the Annandale Way cairn
Engraved stone in the Annandale Way cairn
A stone on the E side on the cairn, engraved as follows:

Sea to Source The Annan That Backbone of the Land
Heir (?) of Everything

Lichen has obscured the wording a little. The cairn marks the source of the Annan and is a symbolic starting point on the 55 mile walk via Moffat to Annan on the Solway Coast.
