Sheringham NNR railway station, Norfolk, 1991
Opened in 1887 on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line from Melton Constable to Cromer, this station closed in 1967 when it was replaced by a short platform on the Cromer side of the level crossing (allowing the crossing to be closed). However, the original station reopened in 1970 as part of the North Norfolk Railway.
View east in 1991 towards the buffers, beyond which had been the level crossing. History came full circle in 2010 when the level crossing was reinstated, allowing occasional through movements between the NNR and the National Rail network.
