The Academy
Formerly St Paul's Welsh Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan), designed by Walter Thomas of Liverpool and completed in 1880 and built on the site of a pub, The Jolly Sailors. It closed in 1992 when the congregation moved to the new St Paul's Methodist Centre, which opened that year, built on the site of the English Methodist Queen's Road Chapel. The original St Paul's was later converted into the present pub, which opened in 1999. Grade II listed - see LinkExternal link.

In front of it is the former schoolroom to the chapel. Built in 1903, it is separately grade II listed - see LinkExternal link.
