NZ9405 : Old St Stephen's Church

taken 3 years ago, near to Raw, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Old St Stephen's Church
Old St Stephen's Church
Viewed from Raw Lane close to its junction with Church Lane is 'old' St Stephen's Church with it distinctive cupola. This church is not particularly old as it dates from 1821 though it is on the site of a much older foundation. It was replaced in 1868-70 by 'new' St Stephen's the tower of which is seen in NZ9405 : View from above Robin Hood's Bay. The churchyard is all that a country churchyard should be, with crowded headstones and scattered yew trees.
