Foresthow Wood
Foresthow Wood
The tall fir tree was formerly used by a red squirrel, who had her drey near the top.

Some time in the spring of 2013, she moved into a nearby owl nesting box, which she lined with copious quantities of moss. This was only discovered after the demise of the squirrels living in this part of Foresthow Wood (summer 2014), when it was safe to check the box.

The photograph was taken from a wildlife viewing position, set up in the hope that red squirrels will return.
