SP2012 : Village green at Little Barrington

Village green at Little Barrington
Great Barrington (on the other side of the Windrush, behind the photographer) and Little Barrington were actually a part of the same parish, with Little Barrington usually being referred to as "Lower Village" to avoid confusion. Now it's a small settlement in its own right. The only interesting thing that seems to have happened here was in 1682, when Thomas, First Marquess of Wharton "desecrated the church at Great Barrington during a drunken rampage". He later went into politics, which I mention merely in passing and with no further comment!
