Clachan Bridge
Clachan Bridge
The famous and much-photographed "Bridge over the Atlantic" over Clachan Sound which carries the B844 from Kilninver to the Isle of Seil. The bridge was designed by Thomas Telford and built in the 1890s. The design includes a high arch to permit vessels to navigate the sound. At full ebb, as here, the flow of water through the channel is very rapid.
