SE0803 : Mini-cairn on the path through Tooleyshaw Moss

Mini-cairn on the path through Tooleyshaw Moss
It is clear from the Google satellite view that this is the old track marked on the OS map in black rather than the green one ("Public Footpath").
It is a magical path through a sort of "peat-scape". The jagged edges of the peat form cliffs along the sides of the track, and strange black lumps with tufts of green on top. I understand the path was part of an earlier Pennine Way. Unless it is or was a stream bed, it looks as if it may have been cut.
The little cairn resembles a small animal or sentinel by the path. Magic!
