Little figure tracking up the Pennine Way
Little figure tracking up the Pennine Way
The rocky outcrop which gives this great view is not on the route marked on the map, which is shown running past it on the right. However a sign further back indicates that the low route is very boggy and points this way.
Incidentally the "little figure" and I crossed near Crowden. She advised me not to wait since she was a "plodder", with full camping gear on her back. Unburdened I ran around taking pictures, got stuck in a bog, and had a picnic. She, meanwhile, had three stops. We both arrived at the same time just south of Marsden!
