Cawston, St Agnes: tower
Cawston, St Agnes: tower
The tower is 15th century, contemporary with most of the rest of the church. Its height is impressive but it is plainer than many of its era.
St Agnes, Cawston
One of many 15th century village churches in Norfolk, this one is notable for the height of its tower, the carved wooden angels in the roof, and its particularly well preserved painted rood screen. The chancel is even earlier, 13th century. Listed grade 1 (list entry number 1263465).
