An outstanding mid-Georgian town house, and the clou of Friar's Gate impressive Georgian portfolio. Pedimented and arched centre, and graced by a splendid doorcase (SK3436 : Detail of 41 Friar Gate, Derby). Built by Derby's leading C18th architect, Joseph Pickford, for himself in c1768. Grade I listed.
It is now the Pickford House Museum of Georgian Life and Costume.
