Kame and kettle terrain near Loch Vaa
Kame and kettle terrain near Loch Vaa
Intricate contours where gravels were left behind at the end of the last ice age. The green areas are kettleholes, formed by blocks of ice which melted after the gravels were deposited. Low lying, they are too damp for heather.
