Tobie Norris
Tobie Norris
This is the former home of Tobie Norris, and behind it was the bell foundry for which he was famous. Parts of the building date back to 1280

Tobias Norris (1586-1626) set up a bell foundry here in 1617, and his son Thomas and grandson Toby carried on the same trade from here until 1689. The home of the Royal Air Forces Association for most of the 20th century, it became a pub called "The Tobie Norris" in 2007. And a very fine one too.

A history of the building can be found here: LinkExternal link
