Sussex Border Path passes under the Uckfield Line
The London, Brighton & South Coast Railway opened the railway between Hurst Green and Eridge on 2nd January 1888. This is now on the Uckfield to Oxted line and is one of the few non-electrified railways in South East England.

Here the Sussex Border Path passes under the Uckfield Line between Cowden and Ashurst.
