NM8511 : Loch a' Chlachain

near to Glenmore, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

Loch a' Chlachain
Loch a' Chlachain
Small loch near the summit of Cruach na Seilcheig. The line of a resistant band of rock can be seen, this is an igneous rock that has solidified more slowly and has bigger crystals than the surrounding basalt. The surrounding hillside is almost all heather clad, and a fine sight from Kilmelford.
