This is the glorious sight of the world’s two remaining airworthy Lancaster bombers on their way to the Portrush Airshow in Northern Ireland. Accompanied by Two Spitfires, they were unable to display at the Scottish Airshow at Ayr Low Green the previous day because of bad weather at RAF Coningsby. They landed at the airport on their return for a short period before taking off to the delight of a large group of aviation enthusiasts. The Canadian Lancaster (Vera) flew from Hamilton, Ontario to RAF Coningsby in early August to join the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on a series of air displays and fly pasts in the UK.
