Lyme Regis: 29 Coombe Street
Lyme Regis: 29 Coombe Street
An interesting building, this was between 1799 and 1853 the town's post office and a rare survival in the front wall is the original wooden postbox, dating from that period and therefore reckoned to be one of the oldest surviving postal facilities in Britain. It can be seen abutting the far window, but a close-up is here: SY3492 : Lyme Regis: the old wooden postbox in Coombe Street.
