Castle Combe War Memorial
Castle Combe War Memorial
The memorial is set back from the west side of Market Place. The early 19th century Gothic wall, originally a screen for the adjacent house, was converted into a War Memorial after the Great War
(now usually known as the First World War). The conversion included the addition of the ornate cross containing the inscription LEST WE FORGET.
