TM4986 : WWI hexagonal pillbox

taken 3 years ago, near to Rushmere, Suffolk, Great Britain

WWI hexagonal pillbox
WWI hexagonal pillbox
This rare WWI hexagonal pillbox is one of two in close proximity of each other. There is also a WW2 pillbox nearby which would suggest that this was not used in WW2. The doors and shutters are still intact although rusted and inoperable.
Access to the pillbox was sought and granted from the owner.
