SH7075 : Brundrit's East Quarry 2

taken 4 years ago, near to Penmaenmawr, Conwy, Great Britain

Brundrit's East Quarry 2
Brundrit's East Quarry 2
Looking from what remains of quarry level 2 onto the working face of level 1, with its winding house and workshop. The buildings on level 2 are rather obscure, but appear to include sett-makers' huts (gwaliau) and a winding house for a former incline to level 1 that no longer exists, having been superseded by a longer incline to the west and removed during the quarry working. Whether the view of Anglesey was a pleasure for the quarry workers is not known.
