SN4006 : South Gatehouse of Kidwelly Castle

taken 3 years ago, near to Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin, Great Britain

South Gatehouse of Kidwelly Castle
South Gatehouse of Kidwelly Castle
This is now the only entrance to the castle. There is a permanent modern wooden footbridge in place of the original drawbridge.
The gatehouse is quite large and would have contained the quarters of local law enforcement together with a prison cell and bottle dungeon.
