SN4007 : The North gate of Kidwelly Castle

taken 3 years ago, near to Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin, Great Britain

The North gate of Kidwelly Castle
The North gate of Kidwelly Castle
The remains of the north gatehouse are much smaller than those of the south. Since this entrance is no longer used it is still possible to see the original abutments to support the drawbridge that would have allowed access over the defensive ditch which extends around most of the castle. See SN4007 : Ditch and outer wall of Kidwelly Castle and SN4006 : South Gatehouse of Kidwelly Castle
