SH6970 : Afon Anafon

taken 3 years ago, 5 km from Llanfairfechan, Conwy, Great Britain

Afon Anafon
Afon Anafon
The Afon Anafon pursues a somewhat twisty course as it descends from the moraine which holds back Llyn Anafon. There are many, glacially-derived (erratic) boulders and only very limited rock outcrop, as here. The glacial history of this valley is very interesting, and makes a contrast with the adjacent valley of Rhaeadr Fawr which has few visible features.
