SP1721 : Along the ramparts

taken 4 years ago, near to Bourton-on-The-Water, Gloucestershire, Great Britain

Along the ramparts
Along the ramparts
Part of the large but now heavily overgrown Salmonsbury Iron Age site. These earthworks extend around some of the old gravel pits and flood zones to the north-east of Bourton-on-the-Water. It is thought the site was more of a 'market town' than a fort and was a place for storage of goods and food.
