Nuffield Place is a house completed in 1914. Lord Nuffield had it enlarged in 1933 and lived there until his death in 1963. Wiiliam Morris, Lord Nuffield founded the Morris Garage company building Morris cars in Cowley, Oxford and MG cars in Abingdon.
William Morris drove a Wolseley, a gift from his workforce, for many years and never sought to upgrade it.
